Steiner Ranch Elementary Kindergarten Nursery Rhyme Parade

Matthew's class studies Nursery Rhymes for two weeks, then they have a parade with the kids dressed up as their favorite nursery rhyme. Kurt said that it was a very good thing that I'm around after this request....guess what Matthew was.....
Hey diddle, diddle
the cat and the fiddle,
the cow jumped over the moon,
the little dog laugh to see such fun,
and the ....................................................

Peace Lutheran Preschool Halloween Parade

Sam had his Halloween Parade at preschool. Those kiddos were so hyped up on partying and candy, by the time Sam made it home he crashed and slept for three hours!!!

Carving Pumpkins

I think the boys have my creative side - just a face on a pumpkin won't do! I know you know they didn't carve these, but they picked out what they wanted and they helped dig out the "guts" of the pumpkin. They even tasted some of the seeds, then quickly spit them out. Oh, what fun boys are!!!

University of Texas vs. Nebraska

Kurt and I were graciously given two tickets to UT's football game by Ms. Mac (Matthew's former and Sam's current preschool teacher). It was a great game, we won 28-25! The 4th quarter was awesome! Other than the sun BEATING down on us until the last 2 minutes of the game, we had such so much fun. It was so cool to see the entire stadium going crazy and shouting cheers. Before the game we walked through the tailgating area, man, do those people know how to throw a party. The funniest thing we saw were that people actually had plasmas and satellite dishes all set up! Hopefully Ms. Mac will be generous again and we will get to go again!!! We would have loved to have taken the boys, but after sitting, or I should say standing, through the entire game, we don't think the boys would have made it.

Sweet Berry Farm

Sam and I went to Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls with our friends, Lissa and Nate. It was a great cool Fall day. We went through a corn maze, had a hay ride, played with the goats, threw some pumpkins around, and bought some really different pumpkins and gourds. We had such a nice time with our two "little" ones. The two of them were able to run around and do whatever they wanted without having to to what their older sibling wants to do. We decided to take the little ones because the big kindergartner's are going on a field trip there in a few weeks.

Matthew's 6th Birthday Party

Where is a kid's favorite place to have their birthday party - Chuck E. Cheese!!!
We celebrated Matthew's 6th birthday there today. He and his friends had so much fun. He has such a great group of friends. One of them even dressed up like Spiderman! They played games, ate pizza and cake, and danced with Chuck E. Cheese.
As a parent, I would have to say this was one of the best places to have a party. They were so helpful with getting everything together, helping serve, and keeping our tables clean. Oh, it was also pretty calm since it was Sunday morning. Absolutely the best time to have a party on the weekend at Chuck E. Cheese!!!!

Hook 'em

Matthew gets to take a birthday snack to school tomorrow and he said he wanted to take cookies. So off I went in search of a cool cookie! Well I found these cool hand "hook 'em" cookies that were $2.25 each (Did I mentioned I needed 2 dozen for his class???) Then I found at another bakery these cool Longhorn heads that were $2.00 each. Finally, like I always say - I can do that!!!!!! So since I've never made cut out, iced cookies before, I shot for footballs colored Longhorn orange. After about 6 hours of mixing, cutting, baking, cooling, and decorating I came up with these .50 cent cookies. I have to pat myself on the back and say they are pretty good for my first try!!!! Oh, did I mention there were 100 cookies I made?!?!?!

Matthew's Allergic Reaction

This is what Matthew woke up to last Wednesday. He had came home from school with a very light rash and I thought it was his prickly heat again. Well, that wasn't it by the way he looked the next morning. It didn't itch, just covered his entire body. After a round of benedryl and steroids, he was fine. We still don't know what caused it, but hopefully it won't come back!!!

20 Year High School Reunion

We had a great time in Freeport this weekend - my 20 Year Brazosport High School Reunion. Now I'm officially old!
But.........we still know how to have a good time!!!!!
Kurt is still stunned from the whole event. He just can't figure out how it could be 20 years for some of us to have seen each other, yet we can talk and laugh like we saw each other yesterday. I keep telling him that it is because everyone I grew up with is amazing and I am so fortunate to have known these people in my life!!!!
