2010 - 1st Day of School

Facebook has made me a bad blogger. So I will become a better blogger this year!

And now....the 1st day of school at Steiner Ranch Elementary. Matthew is entering the 3rd grade with Mrs. Clifford. Sam is entering the 1st grade with Mrs. Vogel. Here's to a great new school year!!!

They might not be very graceful yet, but they are learning proper strokes and most of all having FUN!!!!

First, there is Matt.

The Tooth Fairy is coming to our house!!!

7 Years, 8 Months & finally the Tooth Fairy will get to dig under Matthew's pillow! I was starting to get worried that Sam was going to lose a tooth before him. But finally one started wiggling and Matthew went to work on it. This afternoon he came running upstairs to tell me that he lost his tooth. I could figure it out because just a few days before, there was no way it was any where near falling out. Then he explained, he wiggled it a little, then grabbed it, and pulled! Oh well, better him than me. I was going to leave that parental duty to Kurt! Wonder what the tooth fairy will bring!?!?!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

The "Hockey Moms" plus one decided we would do something different by going to the Alamo Drafthouse for The Ladies of the 80's Singalong. We got into the spirit of it by dressing up. Granted I didn't dress this over the top when I was a teenager in the 80's. I was more of the preppy type.....Jordache or Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, LaCoste shirts, etc...but I did have the big hair. In fact I was a little scared how quick & easy my hair flew out to the original heights of the 80's. In fact, I threw up a side ponytail (as in my cheerleading days) on the first try!!!! We had a blast singing all the songs we remembered and even a few we forgot!!!

Coffeehouse Poetry

Matthew's class had a poetry reading. We were not given coffee, but the artifical flowers were stuck in coffee beans, so it smelled soooooooo good. We were given cookies and brownies along with the entertainment of 1st grade poetry!
