Spiderman Sam's Birthday Party

On Friday night we celebrated Sam's 4th birtday with his friends at Extreme Fun. The kids had so much fun. I don't think any of them stopped jumping except to eat pizza and cake!!!

I Don't Need No Stinking Training Wheels

Sam has been trying to ride Matthew's old bike with no training wheels on the back porch for a few days. So I decided to have him hit the open road while we were waiting for Matthew to come home from school......this was the result.....

That's it. Just like with his potty training, tell him what to do..show him what to do...he does it. Another milestone for my baby boy!!!

Happy Easter !!!

The day started with Matthew coming in our room at 6:30 am, saying their were eggs all over the house and he had to go get Sam. Whoa, nelly....we keeped him contained in our bed for about 20 minutes. Then is was off to hunt baskets and eggs....

Then we went to church to hear about the true reason for the day. Alleluia. I do love chuch on Easter. All the songs we get to sing with Alleluia after not getting to sing Alleluia for 6 weeks!

Then we landed at Uncle John's & Aunt Kim's new house, where there is a LOT of room for the kids to roam. So much Alex had to take all the cousins around on the "Mule".

Of course that left lots of time for all the adults to hang out, talk, and enjoy each other company.

And the Easter Bunny knew how to keep them coming back to the Wilder's!!!

Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday before Easter Sunday, we made our annual walk (or a better description, run) to the park for the Easter Egg Hunt.

On the way, the boys decided that Easter bonnets were not just for girls.

Sam already his picked out before the whistle blew!
And we stopped long enough to take a picture together. Too bad Sam was more interested in the tree & Matthew too busy picking his nose! Oh well, all they really wanted to do was eat the candy!!!

Steiner Ranch Elementary Kindergarten Rodeo

Here is the big Kindergarten Rodeo. I tell you it was crazy! All the classes go to do all sorts of activities outside. Then they got to collect gold nuggets to buy things at the general store. It was a good thing they didn't have school the next day, everyone was very exhausted after the lunch that was served in their classroom - hot dogs and frito pie!!!!

The O'Wagner Boys...

Here's what they might do in the future on St. Patty's Day after kicking back a few green beers. This day, we only kicked back green jello!!!!!

Brother's and Friend's Forever!!!

Their shirts say "You're so Lucky I'm not Your Kid" That's because we are so lucky to have them as "our boys"!

Spring Break 2008

Sadly, spring break is over and we had a very eventful, fun and exciting week. Here are the highlights......

First we started the week out with a trip to the ER. Sam-0, Scooter-1. While riding around, he fell down, as usual, except this time his face it the handlebar. With all the previous falls, the protective covering was worn off and he hit the metal. The eye was glued and 3 stitches to the cheek. The nurses in the ER said that he was the best child they have EVER had to stitch up. He even fell asleep while doing the stitches. Kurt said "Sam? My Sam?? The one who will cry for 20 minutes because we won't give him apple juice?"
The stitches were removed Friday and everything looks like it is healing very well.

On Monday, we headed down to Jones Creek to see Nannie and Paw. We were non-stop when we were there. First we went to Houston to the Museum of Natural Science. The boys basically ran through the entire museum, loving every minute of it.

Later that day, Matthew and Jordan went hunting for mud puddles. Thank goodness Nannie had rubber boots for them to keep dry.

On Wednesday, we went to the Kemah Boardwalk. We rode rides until I thought we would throw up, ate at T-Bone Tom's, then slept on the car ride home. It was so nice because it wasn't the spring break for the kiddos down there, so we were able to ride again, again, again, and again. We rode this bouncy one so much I was just about to hurl. Out of all the rides, this one made the adults want to jump off the pier. Of course, one of us had to always go because Sammie was about 1 inch too short to go by himself.

Then Nannie & Paw bought everyone a cowboy gun at the Saltgrass junction....everyone picked a pistol, except Sam, who wanted a rifle....

Sadly, we left Nannie and Paw's on Thursday to head back to Austin. Daddy missed us and we had to get back so we could go back to the ER to have Sam's stitches removed.

On Sunday, Matthew had his first travel hockey game. The hockey boys headed to San Antonio to play two games. They lost, but they had so much fun, I don't think they noticed. In their defense the San Antonio team was made up of a lot of traveling 8 year old boys! So our guys held their own the best they knew how.

Sam and I had to miss the games. He woke up at about 5am, threw up in our bed at 6am, and subsequently continued to throw up throughout the morning. He is fine now, after about 4 cans of ginger ale and a 3 hour nap this afternoon.

The overall results of Spring Break - Two Thumbs Up!!!!!

Now let's see if we can all wake up at the crack of dawn to make it back to school tomorrow!

Cowboy vs. Pirate

Matthew has to create a wanted poster for Rodeo day at school. So this is what we came up with........

Then before I could turn the camera off, he turned into a pirate!!!!! Funny how the mustaches are the same!!!!!

Cool Dude

Sammie and Daddy's cool hair or as Sam says "Mommy, I need my cool dude"

Winter's Over - At least the boys think so!!!!!

March 1, 2008
It is 82 degrees outside.
Seems like summer, right?
The boys thought so.
They wore me down.
I said I would take them to the pool.
If they thought the water was warm enough, they could swim for 30 minutes.
They thought it was warm enough.
We were the only ones there.
Spectators asked if the pool was heated.
I replied, "Nope, just two crazy kids ready for summer!"

Tinker Toy Challenge

Now usually by the age of almost 4 years, a child would actually play with the toys that come in a box......not Sam!!!!!!
Now not a whole lot of things will cause me to bust out laughing, but this day, Sam managed to have be laughing hysterically.

He was actually stuck in the box for the tinker toys. Then when I started laughing and got the camera, he got even more upset.
Now he was only this way for a very short photo session, then released back into the wild......

Steiner Ranch Outrider

Matthew was chosen to be outrider in his class last week for demonstrating Concern for Others. His teacher said that Matthew tries to put others first by "taking turns, being fair, and lending a helping hand."

It was his week to shine at school. He got to make a great poster with all the things he likes to do, bring his favorite book to school Z in for Zamboni, bring a special snack (Fruit Roll-Ups), and write and illustrate his own book ( a book about Star Wars and how he becomes Obi Wan Kenobi).

He is such a good boy and being so good and eager to learn everything at school. Kurt and I have discussed it and we are fairly certain that he is going to be smarter than us by next year.
