My Little Cowboy

The 1st grade classes put on a great play about Texas and all the kids were asked to dress up as cowboys/cowgirls. Matthew always wants to dress up for events. So here is my Texas Cowboy......He now knows the Texas pledge, State Song - Texas, Our Texas, and Deep in the Heart of Texas. His Texas Mommy is so proud, his Minnesota Dad doesn't understand what all the fuss is about!!!!

Football vs. Hockey

We are about to have a huge rumble in the Wagner house!!! Matthew has joined a flag football team. Now don't fret, hockey is still #1 in our house, but Matthew has been begging to play football as well. So far he loves it.....so do I, just look at the difference in the amount of equipment we have to take to each sport.....You decide which you would like to carry. Or better yet, which sport do I get the least complaints from Matthew about carrying his equipment to practice!

HOCKEY (This is both Matthew & Sam's equipment) FOOTBALL

More Trophies for Matthew

The same weekend we celebrated the end of hockey season with Matthew as well.....both for his House hockey team and the South Texas Youth Hockey League. Matthew concluded his trophy presentation with a speech.......he is so going to be an actor!!!!!

Sam's First Trophy

We got to celebrate with Sam as he experienced the joy of receiving your first trophy! Do you think he liked it???

He was so excited....he held onto it all day...until we got home....then he had to put it with Matthew & Daddy's trophies!!!

The big brothers (Matthew & Sam Anderson) got to help out as goalie's during the Mini-Mite game. They are not relaxing, they are having their equipment put on by Coach Kurt & Coach Ben!!

Now for the big movie.......Sam is in a black jersey, in the middle of the frame most of the time. He falls in front of the net where Matthew is tending goal!

Sam's Preschool HEB Field Trip

Well, I have one more thing I can check off my been there, done that, list....preschool field trips. Sam went on his last preschool field trip to HEB. There was lots of fun to be had with about 28 students, 4 teachers, & a dozen or so parents.....

Watch out shoppers...here we come!
Super silly HEB kings...Nate & Sam
A bit chilly in the freezer with Ms. Alicia.
Checking out the fish counter...."do you really think they are gonna make us try that??"

McAllen, TX - Hockey Tournament

On February 6th, we drove 5 hours so that Matthew could play in a hockey tournament. Four games on Saturday & four games on Sunday. He was awesome. All wins. Out of about the 300 pictures I took, here are some of the best ones....

Mr. Ribbit

Introducing Mr. Ribbit from Sam's class.
Each week someone from Sam's preschool class gets to enjoy Mr. Ribbit for the weekend and then document the things they did together. You know, more parent homework :) ... love ya
Ms. Karissa!!!!

He had a really great time with Sam over the weekend. First order of business - a bath! Sam was worried because I was putting him in the washing machine instead of the tub, but I explained he could hold his breath for a really long time, then he was fine with it! (How long am I going to be able to get away with explanations like this???)

Then, of course, he had to go to hockey practice. He had to stay in the locker room during practice because he didn't have a helmet....Sam's explanation, not mine!!!
Next playing around in the giant ball. Thanks, Nannie & Pa..Mr. Ribbit loves the ball too!

Finally, getting a pump on the bike. Sam didn't mind that he didn't have a helmet on for this activity.

Bret Hedican & The Anaheim Ducks

For those of you who follow my blog, you know that we are hockey fanatics! You might also know that Kurt has a high school friend that plays in the NHL, Bret Hedican. Well, Bret played for the Carolina Hurricanes, but now plays for the Anaheim Ducks. Luckily for us the Ducks are in the same division as the Dallas Stars, so we have more opportunities to see him play. Matthew joined Kurt at the first game in Dallas, it was a game of a lifetime for him. Not to mention it was the first NHL game he attended. Hopefully he will understand you don't get to go under the arena after every game to meet the players. Well, Matthew (and Kurt for that matter) are still glowing after seeing Bret!

Game On!!!!

Christmas Morning

On Christmas morning, the boys couldn't get upstairs fast enough....

Sam is super excited to attack the ultimate puzzle......Rubik's cube!
The most requested item this Christmas. Indiana Jones Sound Effect Whip. Kurt is so very afraid his tv it going to take the brunt of this item!
I don't even remember what gift made Matthew this happy, but he was out of control!
We all were very blessed this holiday and are thankful for everything we receive...materialistic and not. We have had a few bumps this year but we are a family and that is the most important thing. As crazy as Christmas gets, I am most thankful for that God sent Him to be with us on this day....and everyday!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Making a Gingerbread House

While Kurt went Christmas shopping (on Christmas Eve) the boys and I made a gingerbread house. Now I know I'm sometimes Martha Stewart-like. But I totally cheated on this...or I should say Grandma Wagner totally cheated on this....everything was store bought & we just put it together. The boys had a ton of fun licking and eating more than putting stuff on the house.

The finished product.

Time to eat!!!!

Matthew's Christmas Party

Matthew's Christmas Party at school. He got to make reindeer food, eat pancakes, & make a gingerbread ornament. We both had a lot of fun.

Sharing with your children

One of the things I love most about being a mother is that I get to share things that I loved as a child with them. One of those things with Matthew is the "old school" How the Grinch Stole Christmas. He would watch this movie all year long, in fact, we have watched in during the summer. When I saw this shirt, it didn't matter how much it cost, I had to buy it!

Peace Preschool Sing-A-Long

The child of the Creative Movement teacher has the be the one who participates the least! Sam will sing Jingle Bells at the top of his lungs while on the potty, but not in front of anyone! It was a great show (not to toot my own horn), I hope the parents enjoyed it!
The best pictures came after the performance!
