It's been too long

I can't believe it has been so long since I blogged, but wee have had a crazy 3 weeks.

First we went to Sea World with Nannie & Paw (my parents), Vicki, Jerry, Darian, Jordan, and Nicki. Kurt and Marty had to stay at home to work :(

From San Antonio, we went to Jones Creek for 2 weeks, playing and having fun with the cousins and grandparents. We swam, played at McDonald's, a playscape at the Mall, & a soccer arena. We also got to celebrate Paw's birthday!

Then we got home - 3 days later we had our roof replaced, from damage from a hail storm. Then the same day our A/C goes out. The hottest week of the year and now A/C. So we packed our bags again and headed for Grandma's. We were there for a week and come to find out the roofers put a hole in one of our A/C lines. Well, we finally get back home and we had to hit the lake!!!!

Matthew's new game of smack the booty!

Sam, trying to copy Matthew.
Muscle Beach....
Exhausted at the end of the day.....Yep, they are asleep!!

And last, but not least, the only scrapbooking I have done in the past 3 weeks was Jordan's birthday card.

Last layout for a few days - I promise.

This is it. I promise. I'm spending way to much time on the computer.

Help! I can't stop

Ok. I thought I was addicted to paper scrapbook, but now, I can't put my computer down to stop my digital scrapbooking. I can work on my scrapbooking while the boys play inside or outside. They don't care that I'm on the computer so I can get stuff done. I think this may be the only page for today, I have to get some other stuff done - like just playing with the boys.

Big Boo Boo

OK. That is it. I'm tired. But this was a challenge on Two Peas in a Bucket, and I was determinded to do this - because I thought it was going to be easy. Well, I was finished with the page in 10 minutes, but I decided I wanted to change the color of Sam's shirt to match the background. Well after playing around and watching the My Fair Brady wedding special show, 45 minutes later it was finished. Here it is.

Oh yea, I'm on fire!!

Check it out, another layout. I'm so excited that I'm getting so much done. 4 layouts in 2 days!!!

New layout

Here I go, going crazy again. This page has some things I hadn't tried before, erasers, opacity, etc. I think I may be getting the hang of things.

Now I gotta get something done around here, or Kurt is going to fire me (I could only hope)!

Not that I haven't done anything today - 4 loads of laundry and went to Sam's preschool playgroup. Oh, not to mention up @ 6am to walk 3 miles with some neighbors. I guess I have gotten some things done today.

I'm trying to get back into my digital scrapbooking. I have set a goal for myself to be finished paper scrapbooking 2005 by the end of the summer and finish digital scrapbooking 2006 by the end of the year. So that way I will be up to date with our family albums when 2007 rolls around. Nice thought, huh? We will see how it goes. Here is one for 2006 down from Feb. 1st.

Kudos to Rhonna Farrer for this template. It may be cheating a little, but it's fast!!!

I'm still here.....

If you thought I had stopped blogging, your wrong. The summer is taking it's toll on us. Or I should say we are taking a toll on summer. We went to Minnesota/Wisconsin for vacation and had a blast. Next up, the boys and I are going to the coast to see my parents. Here are a few great shots from our vacation:

Great Wolf Lodge: The hotel/waterpark we stayed @ in Wisconsin Dells

Matthew, Keith, Jill, (Our best friends kids) & Sam - hanging out in the room

This was a huge ball park @ Great Wolf, Wiley's Wood's. There were machine guns you put balls in and shot at each other. I think Kurt and Tom had much more fun than anyone.
There was also an amazing maze of slides throughout Wiley's Woods.

Matthew entering the "purple hole"

The Cabin: Long Lake, Cumberland, Wisconsin:
Matthew's first catch - a sunny!
Cooking smore's, campfire (on July 3rd, couldn't wouldn't want to do that in Texas) and popping fireworks with the Muehlbauer's
Kurt's Big Ass Bass - 6 lbs, 20 in.
Now that is what I like to see - men in the kitchen. Untold story - I was the one who cooked the pancake/sausage breakfast!
The sun setting and I caught some beautiful shots of my boys....

These were are $1.50 purchases from Wal-Mart! Yep, I went to Wal-Mart (for those of you who know me best, know I HATE Wal-Mart). There are a very limited amount of shopping places you can go in the middle of no where Wisconsin. Belive me, the boys loved these, they played and swam with them for hours!!

Mall of America, The Camp.
Me and Sam. Yep, we were swinging around the corner fast enough to make my hair fly.
Matthew and Jill making their best lap.

Sam's Little Gym Graduation

Sam had his last day of Little Gym this week. He had so much fun over the past 6 months. His favorite things to do were walking on the balance beam, doing log rolls down the "cheese", and the BUBBLES. He is almost to the point of being a stalker with the teacher when she is blowing the bubbles. At the end of the class I told him to go thank his teacher and give her a hug. Well he did and then went around to give everyone else a hug too!

Craig's List

Have any of you gone to this website? Well, Kurt is obsessed with it. Last Sunday he was looking at it for stuff and came across a BBQ pit just like ours for free. We we had several things wrong with ours: needed new knobs, new grill, and some other things, about $250.00 worth of "stuff" to fix. We hadn't done it because why not just buy a new grill.

Wellllllll, we jumped in the car, got our trailer, and headed over for this "free" BBQ pit. We got there loaded it up, came home and Kurt parted it out to get the stuff we needed, then got rid of the stuff he didn't need.

Good news: Now we have a "new" BBQ pit and it works great. Bad news: Kurt is more obsessed for finding stuff we might need!!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We didn't do too much this past Memorial Day Weekend. We celebrated Kurt's birthday on Friday, we went to this restaurant called Plucker's - it's really funny to get Matthew to say the name real fast. Well, they have wings at this joint & Kurt loves it. Since it was Kurt's birthday, we got this awesome dessert - Fried Twinkies. Oh, My, God - they are the best thing EVER!! Fried Twinkie, Vanilla Ice Cream, chocolate syrup. That was the only "birthday cake" Kurt got - we spent the rest of the weekend trying to burn the calories from that dessert. Other than that, we just played around the house and got some really cute pictures of the boys goofing around.

Nothing is better on any day than Icee's. The boys love these, but I'm sure they are never as good as they are at Nannie & Pa's.

Here are Matthew and Sam driving their cars. I hope that armored tanks are available for purchase when they start driving in 12 short years for Matthew.

Last layout for tonight

Ok. I'm very proud of this layout. Mostly because I do like everything about it, plus I also put my photographer hat on and took some non-traditional photos. Best part was that this layout only took me an hour to do. Which is one of the reasons I want to digiscrap - it's faster!!!!

Scrapbook Pages

Still trying to get the hang of digital scrapbooking. There is such a huge learning curve. I'm sitting here looking at a layout and I know what I want to do, but don't know how to do it. It is so fustrating!!!!! But here are 2 new layouts. I think I'm getting better and I even learned a few new tricks on these pages to make future pages easier.

Brothers

Many times people will ask us since we got to "pick" the sex of our children - why 2 boys. Of course I have my moments of not having a little girl - no nail polish, no dance recitals, no pms of two women under one roof. But we always thought that it would be so much fun for brothers. Neither Kurt or I have any brothers, so we thought it was a good idea.

Well for the past week and a half, Sam has been sleeping down in Matthew's room. We want them to share a room and thought the summer would be a good time to get them use to the idea. Well, we have had our ups and downs with that - Matthew keeps singing this cute song. He asks if Sam is going to sleep in his room the breaks into song "Party in the house, party in the house!!" (I am so afraid when he goes to college)

Well for the 2 of them, it has been a party. I went to check on them because I was going to bed - It was 9:30 pm and I found this.....

Both of them in the same bed, reading books and giggling. I took one look at them and thought - this is why we have two boys - so they can play, laugh, giggle, tickle, tease, fight, cry, and love each other the only way brothers can.

Disney on Ice - The Incredibles

We took the kids to the Disney on Ice show. This year it was The Incredibles (http://disneyonice.disney.go.com/disneyonice/incredibles.jsp). It was very cool. Usually these shows go along with the original movie, but this was was the Incredible family going to Disney World. A few people thought it was just a huge infomercial for Disney, and it kinda was, but we had a great time. We were a little worried on how Sam would be, but he did great. I think that he had a better time than Matthew. Every time someone who was selling something came by, Matthew said, "I want that". Well they did get 3 things - a Dash mask that came with cotton candy, a Dash light up sword, and a arm band. The arm band was actually FREE and all the kids at the end of the show defeated the bad guy by pushing a button. They turned out the lights and you could see all the lights from the kids arm bands.

Crowe's Nest Field Trip

Matthew's class headed to the Crowe's Nest (I think we were in Manor, I really have no idea we were so far out of Austin) (http://www.crowesnestfarm.org/index.htm). It was a really cool place. The kids had a blast on the tractor/hay ride, learning about milking cows, a picnic lunch and checking out all the animals.

I was pretty impressed by my photographer's eye with this picture. I saw Ms. Laura, Matthew, and Justin walking in the distance and thought it was so cute. Two little friends and their teacher.

Hear no, See no, Speak no EVIL

Matthew had to do a scrapbook page for his teacher's at school. I thought these were the best poses for his personality.

My obsession - this week!

My obsession this week has been my scrapbooking. I have been trying to convert to digital scrapbooking, but there is a huge learning curve, because you have to learn the software. I've decided to start in 2006 as the digital attempt. But this weekend I went to a all weekend scrap and scraped traditionally - here are my favorite layouts. Kurt thought it was just a gab & drinking fest, but when I came home with 34 pages, he new I had been working. Ok, maybe I did gab and bit and had a few drinks.
